 Introduction

Dedicated to Lord Jagannath, his sister Devi Subhadra and brothers Lord Balabhadra and Lord Balabhadra, this Jagannath temple is very sacred. People believe that Lord Jagannath is none other than one of the many forms of Lord Vishnu.

The Jagannath temple being a religious place for the Hindu community comes under the Char Dham.Jagannath is regarded as a non-sectarian deity because of the representations of Lord Jagannath in several religions (Hinduism,Buddhism, and Jainism). The Jagannath Utsav Rath Yatra held every year in the temple is quite enthralling. In the eastern states of India, it is a Hindu festival celebrated every June/July and Many volunteers pull the goddess' chariot to the Gundicha temple after the three goddesses have been tenderly removed from the sanctum sanctorum of the main temple. The distance between this temple and the Jagannath Puri Temple is about 3 kilometres. The deities are then brought back to the Gundicha Temple after a few days there.
